Te Puna Wai is Kingslea School’s learning centre in the Youth Justice Facility in Rolleston, just outside of Christchurch. This youth justice residence and its units were names after water sources that are particularly sacred to the local mana whenua, Ngāi Te Ruahikihiki of Taumutu. Our students at Te Puna Wai ō Tuhinapo arrive here because they have been remanded or sentenced by the Youth Court. They may stay from one week to several months. Up to 40 people. The residence is a safe and secure place. You will have your own bedroom, but many areas including the living room and dining room are shared. Other areas of the residence include a school building, a gym and open areas that can be used for sports and outdoor activities.
